The difference between air compressor and cold dryer

There are significant differences in function and use between air compressors and cold dryers. The following are the main differences between the two: 1. Functions and uses

  1. Air compressor:
    • Function: Air compressor, full name air compressor, its main function is to increase air pressure to meet the needs of various gas-using equipment. It is compressed to a certain pressure by sucking air and through mechanical devices, and then transported to various types of gas-using equipment.
    • Purpose: It is widely used in industrial production, construction, mining, transportation, medical care and other fields, providing power for various equipment, such as pneumatic tools, control systems, cleaning equipment and spraying.
  2. Cooling dryer:
    • Function: The cold dryer, that is, a refrigeration dryer, has its main function that uses refrigerant to exchange heat with compressed air, reduces the temperature of the compressed air, and makes the water vapor condense into liquid water and discharges it, thereby making the compressed air dry and clean.
    • Purpose: It is mainly used in occasions where dry and clean compressed air is required, such as pneumatic control systems, precision instruments, food processing and other fields, to ensure the normal operation of pneumatic equipment and extend the service life.

2. Working principle

  1. Air compressor: According to the different structure and working principle, it can be divided into piston type, screw type, centrifugal type and other types. Among them, the screw air compressor compresses air through a pair of intermeshing screws, which is suitable for continuous operation and large flow requirements.

  2. Cold dryer: The main components include refrigeration compressor, condenser, evaporator and expansion valve. Through the coordinated work of these four components, the cooling, drying and purification of compressed air is achieved.

To sum up, there are obvious differences in function and purpose between air compressors and cold dryers. Air compressors are mainly used to increase air pressure to meet the needs of various gas-using equipment; while cold dryers are mainly used to dry and clean compressed air to ensure the normal operation of pneumatic equipment and extend the service life.

Screw and scroll air compressor which noise is big?

The noise of scroll air compressor is usually lower than that of screw air compressor the main reasons are as follows: 1. Structural differences scroll air compressor: compression is realized by the meshing motion of the two scrolls, the structure is compact, the parts are few, and the dynamic balance design is better. The compression […]
