How much does the cooling and drying function reduce the moisture in the air?

The chilling and drying machine can usually reduce the moisture in the compressed air to a pressure dew point of 2-10 ° C, corresponding to the atmospheric dew point of-23 ° C to-16 ° C. At this time, the water content is about 0.82- 1.48 g/m³。The specific analysis is as follows:

  1. Relationship between pressure dew point and water content
Pressure dew point is the core indicator to measure the dryness of compressed air. It refers to the temperature at which compressed air reaches water vapor saturation at a specific pressure. The cold dryer uses refrigeration technology to reduce the temperature of the compressed air to the dew point range of 2-10℃, allowing most of the water vapor to condense into liquid water and discharge it. For example, under a pressure of 0.7MPa, the water content at the pressure dew point of 2℃ is 0.69g/m³, and at 10℃ is 1.26g/m³. The difference between the two reaches 0.57g/m³, indicating that the lower the dew point, the lower the water content.
  2. Water removal efficiency of cold dryer
The cold dryer can remove about 90%-99% of the moisture in the compressed air, and the specific efficiency is affected by the intake air temperature, pressure, humidity and equipment performance. For example, when the intake air temperature is 40 ° C, the outlet air temperature of the cold dryer drops to 22-26 ° C, which is equivalent to a relative humidity of 4%-7% at atmospheric pressure of 20 ° C. At this time, the water content is extremely low.
  3. Water content range in practical applications
Taking the pressure of 0.7MPa as an example, the pressure dew point of compressed air after processing in the cold dryer is usually 2-10℃, corresponding to the atmospheric dew point of-23℃ to-16℃, and the water content is about 0.82- 1.48 g/m³. This range can meet the needs of most industrial applications, such as pneumatic tools, instrument air sources, etc.
  4. Solutions for special needs
If a lower dew point is needed (such as below-40℃), an adsorption dryer needs to be connected in series after the cold dryer. The cold dryer first removes most of the water, and the adsorption dryer further dries deeply. The final pressure dew point can reach below-70 ℃, and the water content is close to zero.
