Air compressor air water solution
Solutions to the water content of compressed air in air compressors
Excessive moisture content in compressed air may affect production quality (such as equipment corrosion, product moisture), and needs to be treated according to the source of moisture and equipment characteristics. Granklin’s water-lubricated single-screw air compressor adopts oil-free design. Water is used as the lubricating medium during the compression process. It itself has a certain ability to control moisture. However, if it is still necessary to further reduce the water content, you can refer to the following solutions:
1. Clarify the source and impact of water
The moisture in compressed air mainly comes from two aspects:
- ambient air entrainment: In a humid environment, the air itself contains more water vapor, which can easily condense into liquid water due to temperature reduction after compression;
- Compression process residue: Water-lubricated models need to introduce water as a medium during compression, and part of the water may enter subsequent pipelines with the gas.
If moisture is not treated in time, it may cause pipeline corrosion, equipment failure or affect gas terminals (such as moisture in medicines and electronic components).
2. Targeted solutions
1. Optimize environmental control (reduce moisture intake)
If the air compressor is installed in high-humidity areas (such as the southern plum rainy season or a humid workshop), the impact of moisture can be reduced by the following methods:
- Pre-dehumidification: Install a dehumidifying device (such as a front dehumidifier) at the air inlet of the air compressor to reduce the initial water content of the inhaled air;
- adjustment position: Avoid direct inhalation of steam, condensed water or humid air by the air compressor (e.g. stay away from cooling towers, drainage ditches).
2. Improve post-treatment equipment (deep moisture removal)
The compressed air output by Granklin air compressor itself is highly clean, but if further moisture control is needed, post-treatment equipment needs to be combined:
- refrigerated dryer: By cooling the temperature, the water vapor in the compressed air is condensed into liquid water and discharged. It is suitable for scenarios with low dew point requirements (such as general industrial gas);
- adsorption dryer: Using adsorbents (such as molecular sieves) to deeply remove moisture can achieve a lower dew point (such as below-40℃) to meet the high cleanliness needs of pharmaceuticals, electronics, etc.
3. Strengthen the maintenance of drainage system (discharge condensate in a timely manner)
Condensate water in the compressed air pipe needs to be drained in time through the automatic drain valve:
- regular inspection: Ensure that the drain valve is not blocked or failed to prevent moisture from accumulating at low points in the pipe;
- manual drain: During wet seasons or during high-load operation, the frequency of manual drainage can be temporarily increased.
4. Maintain equipment waterway system (stabilize compression process)
The waterway circulation system of Granklin Air Compressor requires regular maintenance to maintain performance:
- clean the filter: Clean or replace the inlet filter regularly to avoid impurities clogging the waterway;
- Check tightness: Ensure that all connections of the waterway are well sealed to prevent the infiltration of external humid air;
- Monitoring dew point: Regularly detect the moisture content of compressed air through a dew point meter, and adjust the post-processing equipment configuration or maintenance frequency based on the data.
3. Suggestions and support
If the water content problem of compressed air continues to exist, it is recommended to contact the authorized service team of Granklin to conduct a comprehensive test and formulate a personalized solution based on actual working conditions (such as air consumption, environmental humidity, and terminal demand). Through environmental control, optimization of post-treatment equipment and coordination of daily maintenance, the moisture content in compressed air can be effectively reduced and production stability can be ensured.
Granklin air compressors always focus on user needs and provide full-process technical support from compressed air generation to post-processing to help achieve efficient and clean production goals.
