Are air compressors and cold dryers the same thing?

  • The cold dryer is a compressed air after-treatment device in the pneumatic system that complements the air compressor.

Working principle:

  • The cold dryer cools the compressed air to a lower dew point temperature through the refrigeration system, so that moisture, oil and some impurities condense into liquid state, and then discharges the liquid water through a gas-liquid separator to obtain dry compressed air.
  • The working process of the cold dryer involves the mutual cooperation between the air system and the refrigeration system, including key components such as refrigeration compressors, condensers, evaporators and expansion valves.
